Industrial hoses in many versions

Industrial hoses by hose groups:

IIR Butyl industrial hoses

Butyl-IIR high-pressure steam and hot-water hoses

Butyl hoses as industrial hoses exhibit low gas permeability, excellent ozone and weather resistance and outstanding mechanical characteristics. Their standard Shore hardness is A 65°, while the operating temperature ranges from −30 °C to +100 °C; short-term exposure up to +140 °C is possible.

Special batches of IIR/Butyl hoses include steam and hot-water hoses that can withstand temperatures from −40 °C to +210 °C at a maximum operating pressure of 18 bar at +20 °C. Their volume resistivity is <109 ohm. They are classified as industrial hoses.

CR industrial hoses

CR industrial hoses are supplied by RCT as gas hoses or torch hoses that comply with the regulations of DVGW. The gas hoses are available by the metre or pre-assembled with end fittings. The maximum operating pressure is 100 mbar, and the permissible operating temperature is +70 °C. These hoses are highly flexible and therefore easy to handle in laboratory environments.

Industrial hoses made of stainless steel

Stainless-steel hoses, annularly corrugated hoses and armoured hoses are presented by RCT as industrial hoses, including:

  • Stainless-steel pressure hoses
  • Pressure variants with straight fittings
  • Pressure variants with threaded connections
  • Vacuum variants with small flanges

The annularly corrugated hoses are made of stainless steel 1.4510. They are rated as pressure hoses suitable for 25 bar at +20 °C, with operating temperatures from −10 °C to +300 °C, and short-term up to +550 °C. These stainless-steel hoses/armoured hoses comply with DIN standards and carry the DVGW certification mark.

EPDM/Keltan® industrial hoses

EPDM tubing are used as chemical hoses, process hoses, acid and alkali hoses, and as solvent hoses for polar media.
EPDM industrial hoses have a standard Shore hardness of A 60° according to DIN 53505 and are suitable for temperatures from −35 °C to +120 °C.

Special-purpose EPDM steam hoses are designed for temperatures up to +164 °C at 7 bar.

EPDM hoses are also used as compressed-air and brake hoses, where a burst pressure of 50 bar at +20 °C applies.

EPDM paint-spray hoses offer high resistance to spirits, nitroacrylic, epoxy and PUR coatings, and to esters, ketones and aromatics.

EPDM cooling-water hoses for chemical and cooling-water engineering are designed for 4 bar at +20 °C and for temperatures up to +130 °C.

EPDM dairy and food hoses are supplied as pressure hoses that withstand +164 °C at 6 bar. They comply with FDA requirements.

EPDM/PP industrial hoses are offered as EPDM/PP ventilation hoses for conveying chemical vapours, gases, fumes and hot air. EPDM/PP ventilation hoses/Santoprene®/THOMAPREN hoses are suitable for temperatures up to +150 °C.

FEP industrial hoses

FEP industrial hoses are supplied as pharmaceutical hoses as well as suction and pressure hoses, e.g. FEP Antista double-jacket pharma suction and pressure hoses.

These FEP hoses with antistatic properties are suitable for operating temperatures from −30 °C to +100 °C, with short-term up to +130 °C. Their discharge resistance is <106 ohm.

FPM hoses/FKM hoses/Viton® industrial hoses are supplied as double-jacket chemical hoses equipped with polyester fabric reinforcement and dual copper wire. They withstand 10 bar at +20 °C and operate between −20 °C and +120 °C.

NBR industrial hoses presented as antistatic hoses

Industrial hoses for hot bulk material, suction and pressure duties, paint-spray applications, beverages, high-pressure duties, fuels, petrol, food, oil, drinking water, washing machines and dispensing points are frequently manufactured from NBR.

These industrial hoses offer excellent elastic properties, remarkable mechanical strength and strong resistance to mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, and fuels such as unleaded petrol or kerosene.

NBR hoses without reinforcement have a Shore hardness of A 70° according to DIN 53505 and operate between −30 °C and +110 °C depending on the type.
NBR pressure hoses with synthetic textile reinforcement and steel spiral are suitable for vacuum applications with a vacuum resistance of 80 % at +20 °C.

Another important category includes antistatic / electrically conductive NBR hoses with a discharge resistance <106 ohm. Many NBR hose types are FDA- or BfR-compliant and meet the specifications of the European Pharmacopoeia – primarily beverage and food hoses.

NBR/SBR industrial hoses offer outstanding abrasion resistance, high tear strength, excellent impact resistance and very good elastic properties. Their temperature range is −30 °C to +80 °C, and their maximum operating pressure is 12 bar at +20 °C. Depending on the type, they may be antistatic and electrically conductive. SBR/NBR hoses include suction and pressure hoses capable of withstanding up to 12 bar depending on the version.

The NBR/SBR hose range includes:

PA industrial hoses

Polyamide hoses also qualify as industrial hoses depending on configuration. RCT supplies PA6 corrugated hoses, PA chemical hoses and double-jacket high-pressure chemical hoses with reinforcement.
PA industrial hoses are used for conveying liquids, protecting cables and extracting gases. They offer excellent ageing resistance, impact strength even at low temperatures and UV resistance. They comply with UL 94 HB. The operating temperature range is −40 °C to +50 °C according to DIN 53446.

The PA range includes:

PFA industrial hoses

PFA corrugated tubes are industrial hoses for conveying liquids in laboratory, pilot-plant and industrial environments. They exhibit excellent thermal, chemical and mechanical properties and are free from extractable components. Their smooth, antiadhesive inner surface also allows the transport of solids.
Operating temperatures range from −200 °C to +250 °C. PFA has an electric breakdown strength of >20 kV/mm.

PP pipes, both pressure pipes and corrugated pipes, are also part of the RCT range. They are used in plant engineering for conveying liquids and heat-transfer fluids. PP corrugated pipes provide cable protection, including in vibrating system environments. PP is resistant to acids, alkalis, fuels and mineral oils. According to DIN 53446, its operating temperature is −40 °C to +100 °C. PP meets protection class IP 68 and flammability class UL 94 HB.

Composite hose compounds made of PTFE (THOMAFLON) also qualify as industrial hoses. The portfolio includes PTFE Antista corrugated tubes, PTFE chemical hoses, PTFE high-pressure gas hoses and PTFE high-pressure hoses in various designs.

PTFE industrial hoses are suitable for conveying acids, alkalis, saline solutions, highly chlorinated solutions and all types of solvents. Their temperature resistance is exceptional. PTFE also features a very low coefficient of friction and outstanding gas impermeability.
The operating temperature range is −200 °C to +260 °C, with short-term up to +280 °C.

PVC industrial hoses

The range of industrial hoses also includes PVC THOMAVINYL hoses for diverse applications. They are used as beverage hoses, wine hoses, soft-drink hoses, mineral-water hoses, must hoses, food hoses, compressed-air hoses, ventilation hoses, corrugated hoses and washing-machine hoses. Their operating temperatures range from −15 °C to +60 °C. PVC hoses are gas-tight, mechanically robust and feature an antiadhesive surface. Depending on the specification, they withstand high pressures of 60 bar or 80 bar at +20 °C, making them suitable for hydraulic applications.

Spiral hoses are offered with vacuum resistance of 80 % or 90 % at +20 °C. PVC corrugated pipes are used in chemical apparatus engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and can also convey gaseous media. Their bending radii are 15 mm to 30 mm.

TPE hoses are physiologically safe, completely food-grade and free from extractable components.

A special variant includes UHMW-PE Antista double-jacket chemical hoses resistant to alkalis, acids and solvents, suitable for suction and pressure applications. They are vacuum-resistant up to 80 % at +20 °C and operate between −35 °C and +90 °C.

MFA corrugated hoses

MFA corrugated hoses belong to the group of industrial hoses used in chemical engineering, apparatus engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. They provide excellent thermal and electrical performance, are flexible and UV-resistant, and operate between −200 °C and +240 °C. MFA corrugated hoses comply with UL 94 V-0. Their bend radius ranges from 13 mm to 240 mm depending on type.

Plastic-metal composite hoses are hand-bendable yet maintain their shape. No special tools are required. The inner core is made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene), ensuring high chemical resistance. Operating temperatures range from −25 °C to +65 °C, with short-term up to +80 °C. These hoses are absolutely gas-tight.

Industrial hoses by hose groups:

IIR Butyl industrial hoses

Butyl-IIR high-pressure steam and hot-water hoses

Butyl hoses as industrial hoses exhibit low gas permeability, excellent ozone and weather resistance and outstanding mechanical characteristics. Their standard Shore hardness is A 65°, while the operating temperature ranges from −30 °C to +100 °C; short-term exposure up to +140 °C is possible.

Special batches of IIR/Butyl hoses include steam and hot-water hoses that can withstand temperatures from −40 °C to +210 °C at a maximum operating pressure of 18 bar at +20 °C. Their volume resistivity is <109 ohm. They are classified as industrial hoses.

CR industrial hoses

CR industrial hoses are supplied by RCT as gas hoses or torch hoses that comply with the regulations of DVGW. The gas hoses are available by the metre or pre-assembled with end fittings. The maximum operating pressure is 100 mbar, and the permissible operating temperature is +70 °C. These hoses are highly flexible and therefore easy to handle in laboratory environments.

Industrial hoses made of stainless steel

Stainless-steel hoses, annularly corrugated hoses and armoured hoses are presented by RCT as industrial hoses, including:

  • Stainless-steel pressure hoses
  • Pressure variants with straight fittings
  • Pressure variants with threaded connections
  • Vacuum variants with small flanges

The annularly corrugated hoses are made of stainless steel 1.4510. They are rated as pressure hoses suitable for 25 bar at +20 °C, with operating temperatures from −10 °C to +300 °C, and short-term up to +550 °C. These stainless-steel hoses/armoured hoses comply with DIN standards and carry the DVGW certification mark.

EPDM/Keltan® industrial hoses

EPDM tubing are used as chemical hoses, process hoses, acid and alkali hoses, and as solvent hoses for polar media.
EPDM industrial hoses have a standard Shore hardness of A 60° according to DIN 53505 and are suitable for temperatures from −35 °C to +120 °C.

Special-purpose EPDM steam hoses are designed for temperatures up to +164 °C at 7 bar.

EPDM hoses are also used as compressed-air and brake hoses, where a burst pressure of 50 bar at +20 °C applies.

EPDM paint-spray hoses offer high resistance to spirits, nitroacrylic, epoxy and PUR coatings, and to esters, ketones and aromatics.

EPDM cooling-water hoses for chemical and cooling-water engineering are designed for 4 bar at +20 °C and for temperatures up to +130 °C.

EPDM dairy and food hoses are supplied as pressure hoses that withstand +164 °C at 6 bar. They comply with FDA requirements.

EPDM/PP industrial hoses are offered as EPDM/PP ventilation hoses for conveying chemical vapours, gases, fumes and hot air. EPDM/PP ventilation hoses/Santoprene®/THOMAPREN hoses are suitable for temperatures up to +150 °C.

These FEP hoses with antistatic properties are suitable for operating temperatures from −30 °C to +100 °C, with short-term up to +130 °C. Their discharge resistance is <106 ohm.

FPM hoses/FKM hoses/Viton® industrial hoses are supplied as double-jacket chemical hoses equipped with polyester fabric reinforcement and dual copper wire. They withstand 10 bar at +20 °C and operate between −20 °C and +120 °C.

NBR industrial hoses presented as antistatic hoses

Industrial hoses for hot bulk material, suction and pressure duties, paint-spray applications, beverages, high-pressure duties, fuels, petrol, food, oil, drinking water, washing machines and dispensing points are frequently manufactured from NBR.

These industrial hoses offer excellent elastic properties, remarkable mechanical strength and strong resistance to mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, and fuels such as unleaded petrol or kerosene.

NBR hoses without reinforcement have a Shore hardness of A 70° according to DIN 53505 and operate between −30 °C and +110 °C depending on the type.
NBR pressure hoses with synthetic textile reinforcement and steel spiral are suitable for vacuum applications with a vacuum resistance of 80 % at +20 °C.

Another important category includes antistatic / electrically conductive NBR hoses with a discharge resistance <106 ohm. Many NBR hose types are FDA- or BfR-compliant and meet the specifications of the European Pharmacopoeia – primarily beverage and food hoses.

SBR/NBR hoses include suction and pressure hoses capable of withstanding up to 12 bar depending on the version.

PA industrial hoses

Polyamide hoses also qualify as industrial hoses depending on configuration. RCT supplies PA6 corrugated hoses, PA chemical hoses and double-jacket high-pressure chemical hoses with reinforcement.
PA industrial hoses are used for conveying liquids, protecting cables and extracting gases. They offer excellent ageing resistance, impact strength even at low temperatures and UV resistance. They comply with UL 94 HB. The operating temperature range is −40 °C to +50 °C according to DIN 53446.

They exhibit excellent thermal, chemical and mechanical properties and are free from extractable components. Their smooth, antiadhesive inner surface also allows the transport of solids.
Operating temperatures range from −200 °C to +250 °C. PFA has an electric breakdown strength of >20 kV/mm.

PP pipes, both pressure pipes and corrugated pipes, are also part of the RCT range. They are used in plant engineering for conveying liquids and heat-transfer fluids. PP corrugated pipes provide cable protection, including in vibrating system environments. PP is resistant to acids, alkalis, fuels and mineral oils. According to DIN 53446, its operating temperature is −40 °C to +100 °C. PP meets protection class IP 68 and flammability class UL 94 HB.
