Laboratory stirrers and mixers

In chemistry, stirring is a substance unification technique and concerns the liquid phase of substances. Related to stirring is mixing, which is more likely to mean mixing up. Magnetic stirring bars, magnetic stirrers, magnetic retrievers, homogenisers, stirrer blades, stirrer bearings, gas sampling bulbs and drying tubes as well as magnetic rods belong to laboratory equipment in the category stirring and mixing. The classic laboratory stirrer doesn't exist in this sense, so it can mean parts of a stirrer, magnetic stirrer or other items.

Therefore, for the routine operation of stirring and mixing in the laboratory, Reichelt Chemietechnik supplies the entire range of stirrers and agitators, homogenisers as well as drying tubes, gas sampling bulbs and gas wash bottles.

Stirrers and stirrer blades in the laboratory

The range for stirring and mixing devices  is extremely extensive in the form of magnetic stirring bars. For example, RCT offers micro and macro magnetic stirring bars, twin, triangular, stirring cross magnetic stirring bars as well as highly resistant, round, elliptical and coloured variants, all of which are PTFE-coated. There is also the range of magnetic stirring bars, where a cross-section of all the previously mentioned versions is on offer.

Laboratory stirrers and laboratory mixers are also available. RCT offers stirrer bearings and laboratory stirrers made of PP (polypropylene) as propeller stirrers with round stirring blades and as blade stirrers with angular stirring blades.

RCT offers individual PTFE stirring blades separately, namely in banana shape or semicircular. Furthermore, stirring rods made of PTFE and PVC-U are on offer as well as stirring spatulas made of PTFE.

Drying tubes, gas sampling bulbs and gas wash bottles

As a special range, Reichelt Chemietechnik is introducing gas sampling bulbs made of PP (polypropylene) extended to the laboratory stirrer, which are also referred to as gas collection tubes and are used for collecting gas samples.

Gas wash bottles made of PA/PTFE are used for cleaning and washing gases of any kind. These RCT products are sterilisable, highly thermally resilient and biocompatible. The maximum working temperature/operating temperature of the gas wash bottles is about +260°C.

Gas wash bottles made of PFA/PTFE (Perfluoroalkoxy/THOMAFLON) are used for washing gases and purification.

The range also includes drying tubes made of LDPE (low-density polyethylene, i.e. low-density polymer chains), equipped with hose nozzles on both sides, where the drying tubes are available in lengths of 100 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm.

Drying tubes made of LDPE are used to remove any moisture from gas streams.

Mixing with homogenisers

As another type of laboratory stirrer, homogenisers with a pestle head made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, aka THOMAFLON) are also part of the product range. These are calibrated, so that the pestle adapts seamlessly to the round glass bottom of the homogeniser. Homogenisers with a cooling jacket are also available, which ensures that flow coolers can be connected to the respective homogenisers in order to temper sensitive samples during homogenisation.

Homogenisers for mixing with and without a cooling jacket are also available.
