Threaded sockets, also known as brass threaded sleeves, are defined as distance sleeves made of brass
In addition to metal threaded barb connectors and plastic threaded barb connectors, RCT's range includes threaded sockets made of brass and stainless steel. Our assortment of brass threaded sleeves includes:
- Double nipples with brass threads (optionally nickel-plated)
- Stainless steel threaded sleeves
- Nickel-plated brass threaded sleeves
- Reducing nipples made of stainless steel
- Reducing nipples made of brass (optionally nickel-plated)
Special Program as Connectors
As a special program for threaded sockets and threaded sleeves, we also offer connectors made of nickel-plated brass, which you can order, like the other fitting and connector solutions with external or internal threads, at attractive prices and for low shipping costs. This also includes variants that allow work with several bars of pressure:
- T-connectors with external thread
- T-connectors with internal or external thread
- T-connectors with internal thread
- Threaded plugs
- Threaded caps
Material Specification
Brass
- Brass is a copper alloy containing 40% zinc. Other metal components are also added to condition the material appropriately.
- The chemical composition is represented as CuZnx; the x denotes the zinc content, such as in the definition: CuZn40, under which the material specification includes a density of 8.41 g/cm³.
- Brass is generally harder than pure copper but not as hard as bronze, an alloy of copper and zinc. The color of brass in our fittings assortment is light yellow, indicating a brass content of 36%.
- The corrosion properties of the brass sleeve are significantly influenced by the addition of nickel – if the zinc content in the alloy for the sleeve is less than another metal that can be considered the main component of the copper alloy, the alloy is no longer called brass but bronze/zinc.
Stainless Steel
- Stainless steels, which present themselves as alloyed or unalloyed steels, promise particular purity, which also benefits the quality of the sleeve.
- According to DIN EN 10020, stainless steels are steels with a special degree of purity, whose phosphorus and sulfur content do not exceed 0.025%.
- Non-rusting steels are characterized by extremely high corrosion resistance, especially against the medium water.
- A high chromium content with additions of molybdenum and other alloying elements gives the stainless steel, from which the sleeve is made, a particularly high corrosion resistance, which is a great advantage, especially in water installations.
