Round rods are semi-finished products which are made of plastic as well as glass ceramics or different metals.

Round rods made of metal

Aluminium

Solid aluminium rods consist of a high-quality material mixture in accordance with AL BS 1474. Both the round rods and the square rods which we have available are made of this non-ferrous metal.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel round tubes are manufactured seamlessly in accordance with ASTM 269. They are made of corrosion-resistant, tenitic and antimagnetic steel. The material can be easily polished and machined. A significant improvement in the mechanical properties has been achieved through cold working. The field of application is chemical technology, medical technology, the food industry, gas technology, oil industry and hospital technology. They are absolutely corrosion resistant.

Copper

Copper is a highly conductive and corrosion-resistant material which is also deformable. RCT's copper rods consist of 99.9% pure copper (Cu).

Brass

Tubes made of the material brass, which is a non-ferrous metal, are corrosion-resistant and highly conductive semi-finished products which are deformable.

The round rods made of glass ceramics are made of high-temperature ceramics with absolute chemical resistance to inorganic and organic media. The material is non-porous, non-deformable and has a very high hardness.

PVDF

PVDF is one of the high-performance plastics with very good chemical resistance, good temperature resistance and a high allowable service temperature. Semi-finished products made of this material are distinguished by their great hardness, which is reflected in their high mechanical strength.

PCTFE

PCTFE has a significantly greater hardness and dimensional stability than PTFE. PCTFE is the hardest of all fluoroplastics and proves itself through an extremely low gas permeability.

Glass fibre reinforced plastic

GRP round tubes are electrically insulating, corrosion-resistant, weather-resistant and UV-resistant. This material is thermally insulating and has a high strength.

PC

The plastic PC (polycarbonate) is characterised by a high mechanical strength as well as very high impact strength. This is also the case at low temperatures.

PP

PP round or solid rods: polypropylene proves itself through a good chemical resistance as well as a good temperature resistance.

POM

POM is an ideal construction material for the production of gear wheels with smaller modules, heavy-duty plain bearings and guide rollers. But it’s also ideal for round rods. The advantages of this material lie in its high mechanical hardness, stiffness and strength. POM guarantees high mechanical strength values with a very good resilience.

PEEK

PEEK solid rods are high-performance plastics with extraordinary mechanical strength, stiffness and hardness.

PI

PI round rods also belong to the group of high-performance plastics, along with PEEK.

PMMA

PMMA is an ideal plastic for transparent constructions in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, medical technology and model construction. This material is UV-resistant and has very good optical properties. It is resistant to acids and alkalis, but an individual assessment should be made using our resistance list.

PA
