Push-in Connectors - Food-Grade - Made from POM (Delrin®) Comply with FDA and NSF Standards
Food-grade push-in connectors made from POM are used in beverage technology, food technology, laboratory technology, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, as well as in water treatment. Their features are as follows:
- Food-grade POM push-in connectors are FDA- and BfR-compliant and meet NSF guidelines.
- Connectors can be adapted to plastic hoses made from PTFE, MFA, PFA, EVA, PA, and PE.
- The working temperature range is from -20 °C to +65 °C.
- The maximum operating pressure is specified as 10 bar at +20 °C.
- The food-grade connectors are suitable for both liquids and compressed air.
- 100% cleaning capability of the connectors according to TRSK 501 is ensured.
- The connectors are equipped with a stainless steel clamping collar; the plastic hose is inserted into the connector, and the clamping collar automatically locks the hose in place, ensuring that pressure loads up to 10 bar at +70 °C are possible.
Material properties of POM
Delrin® is characterized by excellent mechanical strength combined with very good resilience. Its impact resistance is remarkable, even at lower temperatures. It has very good sliding friction factors and coefficients. Notably, the impact toughness of POM remains intact even at low temperatures. During processing, POM offers excellent dimensional stability.
POM is resistant to lubricants, gasoline, and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, benzene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, alkaline solutions, ammonia, and amines, as well as hydrogen peroxide and hot water. POM is less resistant/conditionally resistant to UV radiation, organic acids, inorganic acids, and phenols.
The material is FDA-compliant, BfR-compliant, and meets NSF standards.
