Diverse Applications for Plastic Nuts - Wide Selection, Especially Hex Nuts

Nuts such as wing, knurled, cap and handle nuts made of plastic (PA, PC, PP, PFA, PVDF) are available in numerous sizes at rct-online.de. Reichelt Chemietechnik specializes in fasteners of different types. The product range also includes screws and washers, as well as hex nuts made of PA (Polyamide), PC (Polycarbonate), PP (Polypropylene), PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy), PVDF, and several other plastics. The product line also offers wing nuts made of PA (Polyamide), optionally with a round wing, wide wing, or narrow wing for safety applications within construction technology. Additionally, the product line includes knurled nuts made of PA (Polyamide) - conical, with fine knurling, as well as products made of PA (Polyamide) that are glass fiber-reinforced with coarse knurling. The fastening technology program also offers cap nuts according to DIN 1587 made of PA (Polyamide, high version) and according to DIN 917 made of PA (Polyamide, flat version), and cap nuts made of glass fiber-reinforced PA. Available with coarse knurling upon request. The range of plastic fasteners is completed with handle nuts made of PA (Polyamide) with wings, knurled grip, or in a glass fiber-reinforced version.

As a special program, high-cap cap nuts according to DIN 1587 made of PA are available, as well as insulating nuts made of PA.

Hex Nut

This is a six-sided product with various inner and outer diameters and has become a standard. They are made of PC (Polycarbonate), PP (Polypropylene), as well as PVDF (Kynar®) and PTFE (THOMAFLON) are particularly noteworthy. For a product comparison, consult our compatibility list in the glossary, which characterizes each plastic. Product comparison can also be easily done with our comparison list. You can add hex nuts to the product comparison with the "Compare Articles" field. You can find the list itself at the top next to the login, where you can conveniently view and compare all products. Individual products can also be removed from the comparison list. Numerous hex and other nuts can be compared in terms of color, price, thread, and plastic. If you have any questions about the product or the plastic, our team is also happy to assist with product selection.

PC (Polycarbonate) Nut

According to DIN 934 these products are ideal fasteners for visually demanding applications where high strength and heavy loads are required. Makrolon® versions according to DIN 934 are resistant to alkalis, cleaning agents, many organic acids and mineral acids – even in high concentrations. They also perform well against fats, oils, or alcohols. Their impact resistance is remarkable, with stability even at -40°C.

The Makrolon® hex variant, according to DIN 934, is crystal clear and transparent and can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +135°C. PC nuts conform to the standards ISO 4032.

The group of hex nuts according to the same industry standard made of PP (Polypropylene) is suitable for temperature ranges from +5°C to +90°C, and temporarily up to +110°C. These Polypropylene products from our range comply with the standards ISO 4032 and DIN 555.

PFA Nut

Hex nuts made of PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy), mostly in white, are available in inch sizes. They are designed for temperature ranges from -200°C to +200°C, and can also be briefly loaded up to +240°C.

PVDF Nut

These are made of PVDF according to DIN 555 demonstrate their high-quality fluoropolymer material and are considered premium technical plastics for chemical apparatus construction, chemical engineering, process technology, biotechnology, and mechanical engineering. According to DIN 555 they are resistant to alcohols, fats, oils, as well as alkaline, acidic, and halogen solutions.

The working temperature of PVDF nuts according to DIN 555 can be described as -40°C to +150°C, with brief exposure up to +160°C possible.

PA Nut

They are primarily available in white or black. Polyamide is better known under the brand name Nylon. This plastic is rust-free but has lower strength compared to steel nuts. Various sizes of internal threads are available, ranging from M6, M8, M10 to M30, with thread pitches from 0.75 to 1.5. More details can be found in the individual product information.

PTFE Nut

Another important fluoropolymer for the production of hex nuts is PTFE. RCT offers them made of PTFE, THOMAFLON, which are particularly suitable for constructions under extreme thermal and chemical stress. The chemical resistance of these products is excellent, with near-resistance to all organic and inorganic media. Their temperature resistance ranges from -200°C to +260°C, with brief temperatures up to +280°C possible. The material PTFE (THOMAFLON) complies with UL 94 V-0.

THOMAFLON hex nuts are FDA-compliant and BfR-compliant, meeting the standards of the European Pharmacopoeia.
