Waterjet pumps are vacuum pumps for nominal pressures PN 10 at +20°C and for operating temperatures of max. +80 °C

Waterjet pumps/vacuum pumps are provided for the laboratory as well as for the factory in the materials PVC-U and PP.

Waterjet pumps made of PP

  • They are used to create a vacuum; as a result, the filtration process is significantly accelerated, since the medium is sucked off.
  • Evacuation of desiccators
  • Gentle distillation or substitution
  • High chemical resistance, since the wetted parts are only made of PP (polypropylene), FPM (Viton®) and PTFE (THOMAFLON).
  • The operational safety is significantly increased by a built-in check valve (accident protection).
  • Unscrewable vacuum attachment
  • Optimal flow conditions make a big contribution to ensuring the consumption of water
  • Housing material: PP (Polypropylene/Hostalen®)
  • Water supply line: R 3/4" can be reduced to R 1/2" and as an accessory with hose nozzles external diameter 10 to 12 mm.
  • Max. operating temperature: +80°C
  • Suction capacity: 400 l/h
  • Water flow pressure: 3 to 6 bar (absolute)

Waterjet pumps made of PVC-U

  • Waterjet pumps constitute vacuum pumps
  • Gases and liquids are sucked out of the main stream via a secondary stream.
  • The aspiration port causes an injector effect and, as a result, an acceleration of the media flow.
  • Best mechanical strength and stability
  • Good chemical resistance
  • High impact resistance and best mechanical sturdiness at the same time
  • Housing material: PVC-U (hard PVC/hard THOMAVINYL/hard polyvinyl chloride)
  • Connections of the waterjet pumps: Fittings and inserts with adhesive sleeves made of PVC-U
  • Nominal pressure: 10 bar at +20°C

RCT keeps waterjet pumps in stock.

Waterjet pumps for industrial applications

Waterjet pumps are simplified suction pumps or vacuum pumps in which the water is used as a propellant. This technique is often used when it is necessary to suck out gases or liquids or to create a vacuum. A preferred field of application of these kind of pumps is, for example, water supply in order to e.g. suck in oxygen. RCT offers models with connections G 3/4", G 1/2", G 2", G 2 1/4" and G 2 3/4". This covers the entire range of requirements in the laboratory, technical centre and factory.

Structure and function

A waterjet pump has two inputs and one output. At the input, a full-power waterjet from the tap enters the suction pump. Its inner tube has as large a dimension as possible in order to get such a high passage. By conveying the medium in question out of the pump, a negative pressure is created, and with it a suction effect or vacuum effect.

Thanks to an optimal flow geometry, the water consumption of the waterjet pumps is reduced to one-third of the conventional consumption values. The water consumption is about 190 l/h at 3.5 bar (absolute), the pumping speed being 400 l/h of air against atmospheric pressure at 3.5 bar. The final pressure is less than 16 mbar at +12°C (water temperature). However, it is necessary to produce a water flow pressure of 3-6 bar (absolute) in order to reach the final pressure.

You can buy waterjet pumps made of PVC-U and PP from rct-online.de

RCT's waterjet pumps are used as reliable components in the laboratory as well as in large-scale chemistry. They belong to standard operating units in production processes. All the models available from us as well as other pumps – including centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps – are available at short notice.
