Structure and Principle of Pipe couplings

PTFE Hose Couplings
Pipe couplings made of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene, THOMAFLON) demonstrate very good chemical resistance to aggressive media. They are weather-resistant and have the highest gas tightness. The operating temperature is from -200 °C to +150 °C. The Shore hardness D is 60°. PTFE couplings are suitable for operating pressures of 6 bar at +20 °C.
PFA Hose Couplings
Pipe couplings made of PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) are also part of the RCT program. Pipes made of plastic such as PA, PTFE, HDPE, PVDF, or PFA can be adapted to these couplings. To adapt hoses, a support sleeve is used to fix the soft hose. The chemical properties of PFA are similar to those of PTFE. PFA is resistant to most inorganic and organic media. The operating temperature ranges from -200 °C to +200 °C. The Shore hardness D is defined as 60° to 65° according to DIN 53505, and the working pressure is 10 bar at +20 °C. Pipe connectors made of PFA are FDA-compliant and approved according to USP Class VI. They also meet the guidelines of the BfR and the European Pharmacopoeia.
Tri-Clamp Hose Couplings
Tri-Clamp hose connectors made of PP/PVDF/PFA are preferably used in the pharmaceutical industry. They are manufactured according to DIN 32676, ISO 2852, BS 4825. The maximum operating pressure is 6 bar at +20 °C. Tri-Clamp connectors are available for pipes with diameters of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm, and 20 mm.
Handling is exceptionally easy. The two flange-like connection pieces are pressed together and then connected with a stainless steel clamp. A seal is placed between them.
Micro Pipe couplings
Micro couplings complete the program. They are produced in the materials PVDF and PTFE. The seal, thus the functionality of the micro pipe couplings from PVDF/PTFE as micro hose connectors, is achieved via a sealing cone that is placed on the end of the hose and securely fitted into the cone fit with a nut.
