Fields of application and specifications of the individual high-pressure hose variants

Butyl IIR hoses are classified as high-pressure hoses. They are used in process engineering, plant engineering, turbine engineering and power plant engineering. They are designed for conveying hot media such as hot water and steam. IIR/Butyl variants are rated up to 18 bar at +20 °C, with an operating temperature range from −40 °C to +210 °C.

Stainless steel hoses are considered armoured hoses and are offered by RCT by the metre, with straight ends, as well as with flanges. The temperature range is specified as −10 °C to +550 °C. The stainless steel hoses are annularly corrugated hoses in grade 1.4541 with single stainless steel wire braid 1.4301.
Stainless steel capillaries 1.4401 or 1.4301 are used alongside titanium capillaries in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

High-pressure hoses made of EPDM as double-jacket hoses are equipped with a steel wire braid as pressure carrier.

The application area of EPDM variants includes high-pressure cleaning equipment for hot water and steam. The hose features high flame resistance and abrasion resistance. It can be loaded up to +155 °C, with a maximum operating pressure of 215 bar at +20 °C.

High-pressure hoses as ETFE chemical hoses are designed for pressures from 35 bar to 185 bar at +20 °C.

ETFE hoses also serve as ETFE capillaries for conveying acids, saline solutions and alkalis, including halogenated variants, under pressure. ETFE capillaries are used in metal-free HPLC for the separation of bioactive substances and for ion chromatography.

ETFE capillaries are approved for temperatures from −200 °C to +150 °C, with short-term exposure up to +200 °C.

NBR high-pressure chemical hoses are double-jacket hoses and thus qualify as high-pressure hydraulic hoses for conveying mineral oil-based fluids with glycol, as well as for conveying vegetable and mineral lubricants, cooling water, compressed air and engine lubricating oils, HD oils and diesel fuels.

Depending on hose dimension, pressure loads between 35 bar and 145 bar at +20 °C are possible. The temperature range is −40 °C to +100 °C. An embedded textile braid ensures pressure stability.

High-pressure hoses made of NBR/CSM as chemical hoses and NBR/PVC as water hoses are specified for pressure ranges from 33 bar to 75 bar at +20 °C.

NBR/PVC variants as water hoses are rated for maximum operating pressures of 60 bar at +20 °C, with an operating temperature range of −20 °C to +70 °C.

These hoses are used in pest control and as process lines in chemical and process engineering.

For NBR/CSM variants, the operating temperature is −40 °C to +125 °C, with short-term temperature increases up to +145 °C possible.

NBR/CSM hoses are resistant to mineral oil- and glycol-based liquids, fuels, lubricants, engine oils, diesel fuels, vegetable and animal oils, as well as silicones and diluted acids and alkalis at room temperature, and to cooling water and compressed air.

PEEK high-pressure capillaries and PEEK spiral capillaries/spiral capillary hoses are designed for pressures between 52 bar and 420 bar at +20 °C. They are physiologically harmless and fully biocompatible. They are tasteless and odourless and free from extractables.

PEEK capillaries/PEEK spiral hoses are designed for temperatures between −40 °C and +250 °C, and briefly up to +300 °C. They are resistant to solvents, acids and alkalis.

PTFE high-pressure hoses with single and double stainless steel sheathing/braid are part of the standard range at RCT. They withstand very high temperatures up to +250 °C.

The pressure rating of PTFE variants is 25 bar to 330 bar at +20 °C, with the actual load dependent on hose dimension.

Double-jacket high-pressure hoses made of PUR/LDPE are used as hydraulic hoses for flame-resistant hydraulic fluids based on phosphate esters. They are also resistant to mineral oils, mineral lubricants, coolants, paints and various solvents.

The inner liner is PUR and the outer jacket is LDPE. This material combination allows an operating temperature of −40 °C to +100 °C. Depending on hose diameter, the pressure rating is between 86 bar and 210 bar.

High-pressure hoses made of PVC/THOMAVINYL high-pressure hoses are also used as tree-spraying hoses for plant protection and as industrial hoses in chemical process engineering. They are relatively flexible, as evidenced by a bend radius between 30 mm and 60 mm depending on hose size.

Titanium capillaries are used as HPLC capillaries for conveying bioactive and sensitive substances, and for ion chromatography.

Titanium capillaries consist of ultra-pure titanium, ensuring the highest chemical resistance and absolute biocompatibility.

High-pressure hoses for extremely high pressures and highest temperatures.

High-pressure hoses are made from soft plastics (elastomers), hard plastics, and stainless steel. The product range includes variants made of EPDM, IIR, Butyl, NBR/PVC, NBR/CSM, NBR, nitrile, PUR/LDPE, PA, PEEK, stainless steel 1.4541, stainless steel 1.4301/1.4401, and titanium.
