NR tubes for a wide range of applications
NR is the abbreviation for natural rubber, an elastomer characterised by very high abrasion resistance and above-average elasticity. Both properties are reflected in the Shore hardness, which varies according to the specification concerned. It is one of the classic materials in industrial hose technology and is chosen wherever mechanical loading is high and a high degree of flexibility is required at the same time. The applications for these tube and hose systems are correspondingly varied, which is why our range covers a broad selection of specialist designs for clearly defined duties. Whether you are looking for chemical hoses, suction lines, blasting assemblies or any of the many other versions in the Reichelt Chemietechnik (RCT) portfolio, you will find the right solution for your requirements.
Latex tubing
Our product range includes NR latex tubing with a Shore A hardness of 40° in accordance with DIN 53505. These models are exceptionally soft and rubber-elastic and offer very high tensile strength. The natural rubber tubing can be steam-sterilised at +136 °C, which is why it is used above all in laboratory technology, plant operations and chemical process technology.
Chemical tubing
Chemical tubing made of NR is available in several Shore hardnesses; we supply types with Shore A 37° and with Shore A 55°. Laboratory grades behave in exactly the same way as the latex versions: static friction, abrasion resistance and elasticity are all outstanding.
NR is also processed into "ultra-thin-walled" chemical tubing that is equally suitable as protective sleeving. The defining feature of these products is a wall thickness of no more than 1 to 2 mm. They are available in two colours, natural (beige) and red. Despite the slim wall, abrasion resistance, impact elasticity and tear strength can all be described as good.
NR compressed air hoses
Natural rubber is likewise produced as compressed air hose and therefore ranks among the pressure lines, covering a range of 20 to 30 bar referred to +20 °C, with a bursting pressure three times the operating pressure. These assemblies are colour-coded yellow on the outside and have a working temperature range of -20 °C to +70 °C. Their mechanical strength and hard-wearing character are particularly worth highlighting.
NR sandblasting hoses
Sandblasting hoses made of NR are highly abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant and impact-resistant while retaining excellent elasticity. They are rated for a maximum of 12 bar at +20 °C, the bursting pressure being 36 bar at +20 °C. The leakage resistance is specified as <10⁶ ohms. These properties make the material a natural choice for blasting duty, where it stands up reliably to sand and blast media. The only point to bear in mind is that abrasion means every blasting line should be replaced sooner rather than later. Thanks to the excellent quality of the material, a single assembly from our range will cope with a wide variety of blasting tasks. If you have specific questions on this, please feel free to contact our team.
NR double-jacket hoses
Double-jacket assemblies are used as suction lines for conveying sludges, waste water and process solutions. These NR versions are robust and yet remarkably flexible. Models with an inside diameter of 50 mm to 100 mm offer a vacuum resistance of 80 %, while versions with an inside diameter of 110 mm to 150 mm achieve 60 %. The construction combines a natural rubber inner tube with an outer cover of SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber, Buna®).
