Laboratory tubing & analytical hoses – pump hoses, gas hoses, chemical hoses & pharmaceutical hoses made of soft plastics
As a company specializing in hose technology, RCT presents laboratory tubing/analytical products that are used as pump hoses, pharmaceutical hoses, gas hoses, gas burner tubing, chemical hoses, as well as high-performance tubing in chemical and pharmaceutical engineering. In addition, RCT manufactures tubing for medical technology which, like the pharmaceutical products, are FDA-compliant and BfR-compliant.
RCT presents in detail:
IIR/Butyl chemical and rubber tubing for laboratory applications
Butyl/IIR tubing as chemical and rubber hoses for laboratory use. IIR/Butyl tubing variants are designed for operating ranges from -30 °C to +100 °C, with short-term temperature resistance up to +140 °C. The Shore hardness of the IIR laboratory tubing is A 60° in accordance with DIN 53505. A notable feature of the IIR variants is their air diffusion rate, which is approximately ten times lower than that of comparable natural rubber tubing. RCT presents CR tubing as gas hoses or gas burner tubing with end sleeves, designed for operating pressures up to 100 mbar and compliant with DVGW regulations. CR laboratory tubing/gas hoses/Neoprene® tubing are also classified as laboratory/analytical tubing. With a Shore hardness of A 50° in accordance with DIN 53505, they are very soft, offering excellent elastic behavior combined with high elastic strength. EPDM chemical hoses are also part of the RCT hose range. EPDM chemical hose designs are primarily used in process engineering, mechanical engineering, and plant construction, especially for conveying diluted acids and alkalis as well as polar solvents.
Special tubing made of EPDM/PP – high performance for laboratory & industry
A special group consists of hose variants made of EPDM/PP, also known as Santoprene®, Norprene®, THOMAPREN, and PharmMed tubing. EPDM/PP hose variants are suitable for temperature ranges from -40 °C to +115 °C, are autoclavable at +136 °C, are DAB10-compliant, BfR-compliant, and FDA-compliant, thus meeting the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia. A particular feature of EPDM/PP hose variants as rubber hoses, laboratory/analytical hoses, and gas hoses is their extremely low gas permeability. Specifically, EPDM/PP laboratory tubing can be classified as gas hoses because they are virtually gas-tight. As pump hoses, EPDM/PP hose variants play a special role as high-performance products. Their service life compared to comparable silicone tubing is 30 times longer. Consequently, EPDM/PP chemical hoses are considered high-performance products and particularly durable pump hose variants.
In detail, RCT presents EPDM/PP tubing as:
- EPDM/PP high-performance micro pump tubes
- EPDM/PP high-performance micro pump tues with 2 stoppers
- EPDM/PP high-performance micro pump tubes with 3 stoppers
- EPDM/PP high-performance pump and chemical tubes

- EPDM/PP pump hose designs for technical applications in inch or metric dimensions as laboratory/analytical tubing
FPM/FKM laboratory, pump, gas and analytical hoses
FPM/FKM, Viton®, or THOMAFLUOR tubing as laboratory/analytical hoses as well as pump, gas, and chemical hoses are designed for temperature ranges from -20 °C to +200 °C, and briefly up to +250 °C. Their gas permeability is extremely low, meaning FPM/FKM hose designs are virtually gas-tight. The resistance of Viton® hose variants is exceptional. They are resistant to hydrocarbons, mineral, vegetable, and animal oils, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons/solvents, as well as a wide range of alkalis, acids, and oxidizing agents (O3). The smooth inner surface ensures that no deposits form inside the laboratory tubing. FPM/FKM or Viton® tubing variants as laboratory/analytical hoses are characterized by the highest mechanical strength and dimensional stability. The fields of application include chemical engineering, medical technology, analytical technology, biotechnology, process engineering, and laboratory technology.
An important group is fluorocarbon elastomer tubing, including:
