Food-Grade Tubing: Beverage Hoses, Drinking Water Hoses, Pharma Hoses, Steam Hoses, and More

Food-grade tubing belongs to the group of certified products that are FDA-compliant and BfR-compliant, meet USP Class VI requirements, and also comply with the standards of the European Pharmacopoeia.

The range includes food-grade beverage tubing, dairy tubing, high-pressure designs, pharma hoses, pump hoses, chemical lines, corrugated pipes, composite designs as well as drinking water hoses, steam tubing and food-grade variants. In addition, the portfolio includes film tubing, pressure and suction tubing, food-grade configurations, as well as high-temperature variants.

Wide Range of Materials for Food-Grade Applications

The choice of the right material is crucial for the safety and efficiency of food-grade applications. The range includes a wide selection of food-grade materials that meet the high requirements of the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.

The elastomers and rubber materials include EPDM (Keltan®), which is characterised by high temperature and chemical resistance, as well as EPDM/PP compounds (Norprene®, Santoprene®, PharmMed®), which offer excellent abrasion resistance and flexibility. NBR (Perbunan®/nitrile/nitrile rubber) is particularly resistant to oils, fats, and many chemicals, while PUR (Vulkollan®) offers high mechanical load capacity and elasticity. The portfolio of food-grade materials is complemented by PVC (THOMAVINYL) with good mechanical and dielectric properties, as well as silicone (THOMASIL/silicone rubber), which is characterised by high temperature resistance, elasticity, and physiological safety. Tygon (cross-linked PVC) offers extended chemical resistance to many media and is particularly durable.

For special applications with particularly high requirements for chemical resistance and temperature resistance, fluoroplastics are used. These include FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) with excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, PTFE (THOMAFLON/polytetrafluoroethylene) with exceptional temperature and media resistance, as well as PVDF (Solef®/Kynar®), which is characterised by high stability against acids, alkalis, and solvents. In addition, LDPE (low-density polyethylene) and LLDPE (linear polyethylene) provide economical solutions for applications requiring high purity and easy processing.

Thanks to this comprehensive selection of tested materials, the optimal food-grade material solution is available for every food technology, pharmaceutical, or chemical application.
