SBR Tube – Versatile Rubber Hoses for Industry
Reichelt Chemietechnik is a specialist supplier of tubes and hoses for industrial and chemical applications. Our soft rubber hose range includes SBR tubing (styrene-butadiene rubber, Buna®) in a broad variety of designs and for a wide range of specific purposes. The portfolio comprises hot water and steam lines, LPG and oxy-fuel gas hoses as well as antistatic chemical and process air versions. Many items are permanently in stock, which allows us to deliver just in time.
Typical SBR uses are found in process technology, plant operations, pharmaceutical technology, chemical technology and industrial technology. The material is weather-resistant and offers good ageing and cold resistance. It is also flexible and withstands many acids and alkalis as well as polar solutions.
SBR Tubing at a Glance
Steam and Hot Water Hoses
SBR rubber tubes for steam and hot water are used primarily in plant engineering, turbine technology and power plant technology. They are designed to convey hot media such as water and vapour, the limit for saturated steam being +164 °C. The maximum operating pressure is 6 bar at +20 °C.
Cable Protection Tubing
SBR tubes produced for cable protection are ultra-thin-walled and serve to bundle cables and lines. The tube wall is highly abrasion-resistant and offers excellent mechanical properties.
Oxy-Fuel Gas Hoses
Our oxy-fuel gas assemblies are made from a material compound of SBR and EPDM and are also used for welding. They are highly flexible and withstand an operating pressure of 20 bar at +20 °C; the bursting pressure is 60 bar at +20 °C. The lines are colour-coded: blue is the welding line for oxygen, red the welding line for combustible gases – though not for liquefied petroleum gases.
As a further specification, SBR oxy-acetylene welding hoses are available in which the fuel gas line is coloured red (except for LPG, NPS, natural gas and methane) and the oxygen line blue. Versions of this type are used for small and portable system installations.
LPG Hoses
LPG hoses for propane and butane are robust assemblies that comply with SVS and SVGW regulations. The standard operating pressure of these products is 20 bar at +20 °C, with a bursting pressure of 60 bar at +20 °C. They conform to EN 559 and ISO 3821.
Antistatic Chemical and Process Air Hoses
Process air and chemical hoses made from SBR and NR (nitrile rubber) are extremely flexible and resistant to acids, alkalis and polar solutions. The antistatic outer core consists of SBR and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene, THOMAPREN), while the inner core is made from NBR and styrene-butadiene rubber. The maximum operating pressure is 20 bar at +20 °C.
