Microporous Sintered Material

RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik GmbH + Co. offers in the field of plastics sintered material made of HDPE and PTFE. The hydrophobic materials are available in various shapes such as plates, pipes, rods and discs with all kinds of dimensions and pore sizes from 10 to 250 µm.

For the production of the sintered elements granules are fused together through an exactly defined and controlled sintering process so that stable bodies of various shapes form. By granular material selection and choice of process parameters the pore size can be specifically influenced.

The sintered materials are usually used in in the areas of metrology, chemical technology, semiconductor technology, cleanroom technology, filter technology, safety engineering and automotive industry, wherever filtration of gases and fluids, gassing, ventilation and atomization are required.

The porous PTFE has a universal chemical resistance and can be used at temperatures from -200 to +260 °C. The porous HDPE, however, can only be used with interruptions at temperatures up to +116 °C and is chemically resistant to alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, organic compounds such as technical oils, as well as to strong alkalis, acids and their salt-formers, thus being suitable for standard applications. The porous PTFE, as technical high-end product, is suited for extremely high loads.
