Biodiesel is a biosynthetic fuel similar to mineral diesel fuel. In Europe it is commonly produced by transesterification of rapeseed oil with methanol (rapeseed methyl ester).
Biodiesel is manufactured from renewable raw materials and replaces mineral oil based fuels the future availability of which already in the medium term is estimated to be limited.
Reichelt Chemietechnik presents two new hoses of its product group THOMAFLUID® made of NBR (butadiene-acrylonitrile-rubber) as special compound. The hoses are resistant to biodiesel, mineral oils, vegetable and animal oils, and fuels such as kerosene or gasoline (unleaded). Thereby a max. aromatic content up to 60 % should not be exceeded.
The hoses have antistatic properties. An incorporated textile fabric with twisted copper braids represents this product specification. For continuous use max. 16 bar at +20 °C are allowed.
