General Information

For use in chemical and pharmaceutical industry, plant and apparatus engineering, environmental technology and process engineering, sewage and water treatment technology, electrical engineering, building and construction industry.

Corrosion-resistant

Impact resistant, but sensitive to impact in the cold

High mechanical stability

Resistant to salt solutions, diluted, partly also concentrated acids and alkalis, nonpolar solvents, gasoline, mineral oil, greases, alcohol, aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Not resistant to polar solvents, e.g. esters, chlorinated hydrocarbon, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, liquid halogen, oleum-containing sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid.

Material: PVC-U (rigid polyvinyl chloride, impact resistant)

Colour: grey, according to RAL 7011

Density: 1.39 g/cm³

Max. temperature: +60 °C for neutral media, for a short time +80 °C

Vicat softening point: +70 °C to +90 °C (5 kg, DIN 53460)

Glass transition temperature: approx. +90 °C

Shore hardness D: 83º - 85º (DIN 53505)

Expansion coefficient: 0.7 - 0.8 x 10^-4 K^-1 (DIN 52328)

Tensile elastic modulus: 2800 - 3300 N/mm² (DIN 53457)

Tensile strength: 55 - 70 N/mm² (DIN 53455)

Elongation at break: 8 - 20 % (DIN 53455)

Limiting flexural stress: 75 - 100 N/mm² (DIN 53452)

Volume resistivity: >10¹⁶ Ohm x cm (DIN 53482)

Surface resistance: approx. 10¹³ Ohm (DIN 53482)

El. breakdown strength: 40 - 50 kV/mm (DIN 53481)
