PTFE for sealing technology

Reichelt Chemietechnik presents its THOMAPLAST® high-flexible resistant PTFE packing material as a compound of the new generation for production of sealing tapes, gaskets, formed parts, complete sealings as well as flanges with absolutely narrow sealing surfaces. The flexibility of this material ensures highest sealing and adjustment standard also in critical applications.

The PTFE compound is used in chemical plant building as lining material for compensators, piping and columns. It is pressed to the walls of the aggregate to be lined under high pressure. The further application areas of this high-flexible material are process engineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical technology, machine construction, slide bearing technique.

This packing material is used especially in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry when it is required to find problem solutions in areas such as pump and valve technology, medical heat exchanger and laboratory technology, as well as in electrical engineering, e.g. power current and high-frequency technology.

The presented heavy-duty compound is absolutely resistant not only to organic and anorganic solutions but also to chloronitrous acid (aqua regia), oils, petrols, ketones, alkohols and alkalis. However, it is not resistant to liquid ammonia, strong oxidants and elemental fluorine at high temperatures.

The THOMAPLAST® high-flexible PTFE packing material meets the regulations of FDA § 177.2600 and USP Class VI.
