Drain cocks are considered to be spigots, taps and filling taps made from HDPE, PP, PA 12, brass and stainless steel.

RCT's range of taps and valves also includes drain cocks. Drain cocks are also referred to as dosing taps for canisters, filling taps or spigots. In laboratory technology and chemical engineering, they are preferably made from plastic. Especially in the following materials: PA12 (polyamide), PP (polypropylene) and HDPE (high-density polyethylene).

For special applications and especially in robust operation, where many litres of liquid have to be handled, drain taps made from brass and stainless steel are required, which are particularly suitable for gases, liquids and vapours up to PN 10, whereby stainless steel valves can be subjected to operating temperatures of -5°C to +130°C. With a brass tap, the result is operating temperatures between -5°C and +50°C.

Made from HDPE

Drain cocks, spigots, filling taps made from HDPE with external thread R 1/2" on the one hand and drain nozzles on the other hand are suitable for operating pressures up to max. 1.5 bar at +20°C and can be used for working temperatures from -30°C to +90°C.

Made from conductive PA 12

Drain cocks or filling taps made from PA12 are conductive. With an internal thread R 3/4" they fit all commercially available drums and canisters and are equipped with a hose nozzle for hoses from 6 to 8 mm. The pressure guideline is max. 2 bar at +20°C. The seal of these spigots is made from PTFE.

Made from PP

Filling taps or spigots made from PP in a compact design have a short spout which does not protrude beyond the bottom edge of the container, so the tap is ideal even with the smallest amount of space. The connection of the drain cock consists of a screw cap with an internal thread R 3/4". A maximum operating pressure of 2 bar can be applied at +20°C. In continuous operation, the working temperature of +70°C must not be exceeded.

Made from brass or stainless steel

Drain cocks or filling taps made from brass or stainless steel with a curved spout are suitable for gases, vapours and liquids up to PN 10 and for temperatures from -5°C to +130°C for stainless steel and from -5°C to +50°C for brass. They are optionally available with the threads R 1/4", R 3/8", R 1/2" and R 1". Spigots made from brass and stainless steel are also produced and offered with a smooth spout as well as with a spout connection.

Order drain cocks in any quantity and quality from Reichelt Chemietechnik

In laboratory and chemical engineering, drain cocks are considered dosing taps, filling taps and also spigots made from plastic. They belong to Reichelt Chemietechnik's standard range just like a large number of stopcocks or solenoid valves, which are kept in stock. Delivery takes place just in time. In addition to the range of taps made from HDPE, PA 12 and PP, Reichelt Chemietechnik also supplies drain cocks or filling taps or spigots made from brass and stainless steel.
