Composite materials with adhesive tapes are easy-to-use and may therefore be realized cost-effectively. They are basically conceivable for all material combinations.
Composites by means of adhesive tapes are resistant to the effects of moisture and, depending on carrier material, also largely resistant to chemicals. Compared with other joining technologies, glued connections furthermore provide the advantage that mechanical stresses due to the residual elasticity of the adhesion sites can be virtually ruled out. This is true particularly for composites with foam adhesive tapes which absorb tension forces very effectively and can offset with that.
