Dr. Björn Schmalzbauer

Björn Schmalzbauer studied chemistry at the University of Heidelberg and then completed his doctorate at the University of Bonn in the field of natural product total synthesis. After completing his doctorate, he worked in research and development at a medium-sized company with a focus on dental technology products. Since 2018, he has been a research chemist at a chemical company in Freiburg that specializes in the production of chiral substances. There he develops synthesis and separation processes. In his free time, he enjoys flying with his paramotor or traveling with his pickup camper.
