Plastic Pipe Connectors
Pipe connectors are used for adapting hard hoses. For fittings for hard hoses with outer diameters of 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm, they are referred to as hose fittings. For pipe connectors/pipe fittings with an outer diameter of 12 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm, the term pipe fittings applies. The principle of connection for pipe couplings/tube fittings is based on the hose/pipe fitting snugly inside the fitting, and the connection with the pipe or hose is then sealed with a sealing ring. The fitting itself is sealed in this type of connection by a cutting ring made of PEEK (Polyether ether ketone), which acts on the hose/pipe via a tightened union nut. The slotted cutting ring notches into the hose/tube as much as the union nut is tightened on the side.

- PP (Polypropylene/Hostalen® PP)
A connector for a pipe or even a hose made of this material is resistant to lubricants, gasoline, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones as well as aromatic hydrocarbons, organic acids, mineral acids, hydrogen peroxide, alkaline solutions, ammonia, and amines.
- PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride, Kynar®, Solef®)
is a fluoroplastic that is resistant to gasoline and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents, ammonia solutions and aliphatic amines as well as to aniline, mineral acids, organic acids, hydrogen peroxide, and UV radiation.
- PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy/Chemfluor®)
belongs to the group of fluoroplastics and is resistant to gasoline and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, benzene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, halogenated solvents, esters, ketones, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide as well as to ammonia solutions and aliphatic amines, pyridine, mineral acids, organic acids, hydrogen peroxide, hot water, and UV radiation.
- PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride/Knyar®, Solef®)
presents itself as a fluoroplastic, its resistance to gasoline and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents, ammonia solutions and aliphatic amines as well as aniline, mineral acids and organic acids, but also to hydrogen peroxide and hot water is given.
- POM (Polyoxymethylene/Delrin®)
is characterized by its resistance to lubricants, gasoline, and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, benzene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, against esters, ketones, alkaline solutions, ammonia, and amines as well as against hydrogen peroxide and hot water.
There is low resistance to phenols, organic acids, and mineral acids.
