Centrifugal pumps are magnetically coupled pumps which serve as high-performance pumps, chemical pumps and pharmaceutical pumps for temperatures up to +95°C

Magnet-coupled centrifugal pumps are used in pharmaceutical technology, food technology, environmental technology, electroplating technology and process technology.

PP centrifugal pumps

  • High production reliability of the centrifugal pump due to leak-free design
  • Absolute reliability and safety, as the centrifugal pumps comply with the UL-VDE guidelines.
  • Robust centrifugal pump which does not allow any solid content.
  • A flow monitor should be installed to protect against dry running
  • Max. working temperature: +80°C
  • Max. ambient temperature: +40°C
  • Viscosity: <20 mPa.s
  • Protection class: IP 55
  • Insulation class F

PVDF centrifugal pumps

  • High-performance pump for critical media
  • Robust centrifugal pump which does not allow any solid content
  • This centrifugal pump is ideal for conveying from container to container in the industrial sector with different pressure
  • The pump must be equipped with a flow monitor to avoid dry running
  • The pumps work up to a max. operating temperature/media temperature of +95°C
  • Max. ambient temperature: +40°C
  • This centrifugal pump delivers media with a viscosity of <20 mPa.s
  • Protection class IP 65 and insulation class F apply to these pumps

ECTFE centrifugal pumps

  • Robust chemical pump for the chemical engineering and semiconductor industry as well as for process technology and environmental engineering
  • This pump enables a nonreactive system
  • Highest production reliability even at high pressure with several bar
  • Absolutely reliable and safe
  • The pumps comply with the UL-VDE guidelines
  • Housing material: ECTFE (Ethylene-Tetrafluoroethylene)
  • The shaft and bearings of the centrifugal pump are made of ceramic
  • The pump complies with protection class IP 42

Centrifugal pumps for chemical engineering

A centrifugal pump is understood to mean a pump in which the medium to be conveyed or the water to be transported is set in rotation by a rotating pump wheel, as a result of which a conveying of the medium is achieved through the centrifugal force this creates. Due to this pumping principle, which is different from the usual pumping or suction function, the pumping capacity, the delivery quantity and the discharge head of a centrifugal pump are dependent on the rotational speed of the pump wheel. The models in RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik’s range are magnet-coupled - these are also referred to as magnetic centrifugal pumps. The pumps with magnetic coupling are used in chemical engineering, process technology, electroplating and process engineering.

There are also centrifugal pumps which have two pump wheels rotating in opposite directions. This kind of centrifugal pump is called a gear pump.

When are centrifugal pumps used?

Magnetic centrifugal pumps are suitable for use for inorganic and organic media, whereby especially in chemical engineering the magnetic pumps are used as acid pumps and lye pumps, but this kind of centrifugal pump is also suitable for the transportation of water. The pumping of corrosive media as well as alkaline and galvanic baths is part of the standard profile of the pumps which are available from us with different pumping and suction capacities for each delivery quantity.

Depending on the required flow rate and discharge head, magnet-coupled centrifugal pumps are always used when the production environment in which the pump is used is robust and demanding and when high tightness and maintenance-free operation are required.

The advantages of the pumps at a glance

The use of centrifugal pumps, which are magnet-coupled, comes with numerous advantages. For example, with a pump of this design there are no shaft seals and the mechanical separation of motor and pump is provided. Leaks during the delivery of water and other media are ruled out when using this pump. In addition, the easy installation, the special functional reliability and the space-saving compact construction of the pumps as well as the sealless design, which favours the conveyance of aggressive chemicals or even just the transport of water, should be emphasised. The materials used in the construction of the magnetic centrifugal pumps also enable a high corrosion resistance.
