Threaded sleeves / spacer sleeves made of plastic

Viewed

Threaded sleeves / spacer couplings are produced from the plastics HDPE, PP, POM, and PTFE.

To connect hoses, special couplings are required. RCT presents a comprehensive program of threaded sleeves or spacer sleeves with internal threads made from various plastics. When you place an order, you not only benefit from the wide selection on our site and an attractive price per piece but also from short delivery times offered by our shipping. On our website, you will find threaded sleeves made of the following materials:

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
  • PA (Polyamide)
  • POM (Polyoxymethylene, Delrin®)
  • PP (Polypropylene, Hostalen®PP)
  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride, Kynar®, Solef®)
  • PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene, THOMAFLON)

Chemical resistance of the threaded sleeves

  • PP (Polypropylene/Hostaform® PP) A threaded sleeve made of this plastic is resistant to lubricants, gasoline, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, and ketones, organic acids, mineral acids, hydrogen peroxide, alkali solutions, ammonia, and amines.
  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is resistant to lubricants, oils, and fats, gasoline, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, esters, ketones, organic acids, mineral acids, as well as hot water, alkali solutions, ammonia, and amines.
  • POM (Polyoxymethylene/Delrin®) shows the best resistance to lubricants, gasoline, and other aliphatic hydrocarbons as well as to benzene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, alkali solutions, ammonia, and amines as well as hydrogen peroxide and hot water. The material is conditionally resistant to phenols and UV radiation.
  • PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene/THOMAFLON) Proves its resistance as an all-around fluoroplastic; it is resistant to almost all organic and inorganic media except for fluorine and free alkali metals. You will also find the appropriate adhesive sleeve made of this material in our range. Its resistance is given when used with lubricants, gasoline, and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, benzene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, halogenated solvents, free halogens, esters, ketones, alkali solutions, ammonia, and amines, organic acids as well as mineral acids but also with hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and other oxidizing agents, including hot water, steam, and UV radiation.

Thread types

The following threads are available for the threaded sleeves:

G 1/8" sleeve
G 3/8"
G 1/2" sleeve
G 3/4"
G 1" sleeve
Threaded couplings with the internal threads UNF 1/4"-28 TPI, G, and M 2.5 x 0.45 are available. The application area of hose connectors with the thread type UNF 1/4"-28 TPI is reserved for analytical technology and laboratory technology, specifically for the field of chromatography and analysis automation. Connection pieces equipped with a G-thread are preferred in chemical apparatus construction as well as in chemistry and process engineering.

Threaded sleeves as hose connectors from different materials: an overview

Spacer couplings made of PP

Threaded sleeves made of PP (PP glass-reinforced) are offered with cylindrical thread and internal thread G and this as through-, angle-, and T-threaded couplings. The angle sleeves are available with both double-sided internal thread and with internal and external thread. The maximum operating pressure for these versions is 10 bar at +20 °C, whereas the temperature resistance is set at -0 °C to +80 °C. The entire range of spacer sleeves is autoclavable at +121 °C. G 1/2", G 3/4", and G 1" threads are also available.

Spacer couplings made of POM

Sleeves made of POM serve as connection elements and adhesive sleeves for the production of hose lines in laboratory and analysis technology. POM threaded sleeves are suitable for temperature ranges from -15 °C to +100 °C, but can also be temporarily subjected to +140 °C. Unlike many PVC sleeves, they are resistant when used with gasoline and lubricants, xylene, benzene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons, but also against ketones and esters as well as hydrogen peroxide. The hose connectors are equipped with an internal thread UNF 1/4"-28 TPI.

Spacer couplings made of PA

Spacer sleeves for hoses made of PA are equipped with an internal thread M 2.5 x 0.45. They are dimensionally stable and impact-resistant, UV, light, and weather-resistant. They are chemically resistant to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, gasoline, trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, acetone, alcohols as well as mineral lubricants. The working temperature range is from -40 °C to +90 °C, although the threaded sleeves can also be temporarily subjected to +180 °C. The working pressure is 10 bar at +20 °C.

Spacer couplings made of HDPE

HDPE is a high-density material. Threaded sleeves made of this material are equipped with an internal thread UNF 1/4"-28 TPI. They serve as connection elements between 2 hoses. The working temperature range is from -15 °C to +100 °C, with the max. operating pressure being 16 bar at +20 °C. The chemical resistance with polar solvents, acids, alkalis, alcohols, oils, and gasoline is given.

Spacer couplings made of PTFE

The one-piece hose connectors made of plastics also include variants made of PTFE, which are consistently equipped with an internal thread UNF 1/4"-28 TPI. The sleeves serve as connection elements for hose lines and are characterized by high chemical resistance to almost all inorganic and organic media. They are also resistant to lubricants and gasoline, xylenes, benzenes, phenols, halogenated solutions, free halogens, esters, ketones, inorganic acids, and alkalis (mineral acids) as well as against oxidizing agents, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide. The working temperature range is from -200 °C to +260 °C.

Spacer couplings made of PVDF

Spacer sleeves made of PVDF are optionally equipped with G 1/8", G 1/4", G 3/8", and G 1/2". They serve as connection elements for hoses in the field of laboratory technology, chemical technology, and process engineering and are designed for a working temperature of -40 °C to +140 °C, with a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar at +20 °C possible. The application area of the PVDF threaded sleeves is primarily chemical technology and process engineering, but they are also used in plant construction and in experimental plants.
