General Information EMP-M2

A long sealing cone (ferrule) put at the end of the tubing is solidly screwed into the conical fit of the connector by means of a knurled cap nut. The resistance to withdrawing forces is increased by the contact pressure on the tubing exerted by the cap nut on a FPM-O-ring via a pressure pad.

PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride)

High-quality technical plastic for chemical apparatus and machine building, especially in the petrochemical, metallurgical, pharmaceutical, food processing, paper and textile industry as well as in the nuclear technology.

High impact toughness even at low temperatures

Highest mechanical stability and stiffness

Good breakdown strength

Low dielectric loss factor

Physiologically safe

Meeting highest purity requirements

Outstanding resistance to UV, weather and aging

Flame-resistant

High thermal stability

Resistant to alcohols, fats and oils, halogenes, alkalis, acids

Not stable to aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, amines, pyridine, dimethylformamide, hot alkalis, fuming sulfuric acid

Colour: nature, slightly translucent

Density: 1.75 g/cm3

Temperature range: -40 to +140 °C

Shore hardness D: 79° (great hardness)

Max. operating pressure: 1 bar at +20 °C

Water absorption: <0.04 % (water resistant)

Tensile strength: 38 - 50 N/mm2

Elongation at break: 12 %

Surface resistance: >1013 Ohm

Melt flow index MFR: 6 g/10 min.

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

Heavy-duty plastic

Antiadhesive surface

Outstanding sliding properties

Lowest friction coefficient of all fluorinated plastics

Excellent stress cracking resistance

Excellent weather resistance

Highest gas-tightness

No water absorption

Very good dielectric properties independent of frequency and temperature

Very good electrical insulating capacity also at air humidity

High tracking resistance

Non-combustible

Tearing strength: 30 - 40 N/mm2

Elongation at break: 300 %

Water absorption: 0.01 %

Surface resistance: >1017 Ohm

PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy)

High-quality technical plastic for chemical apparatus and machine construction as well as electrical engineering

Chemical, thermal and dielectrical properties practically such as PTFE, but suitable for thermoplastic processing (welding, die casting, deep drawing). Lower medium diffusion, better transparency, larger hardness and better dimensional stability (lower tendency to cold flow) compared to PTFE.

Highest temperature resistance of all meltable fluorinated plastics

Very high dimensional stability in heat

Very high resistance to media

Very good pressure resistance

Low friction coefficient

Can be treated by autoclave (absolute sterile)

Comply with the guidelines from FDA and USP class VI.

Excellent resistance to weather

Flame-resistant

Colour: milky, translucent

Density: 2.10 g/cm3

Temperature range: -200 to +200 °C (highest dimensional stability in heat)

Shore hardness D: 60° to 65°

Max. operating pressure: 1 bar at +20 °C

Coefficient of sliding friction: 0.2 - 0.3 (dynamic against steel, dry)

Tensile strength: 27 to 32 N/mm2 at +23 °C

Water absorption: <0.03 %

Dielectric constant: 2,1

Surface resistance: >1017 Ohm
