Activated Carbon Granular Sorbent Material - mercury purification

Application area Special sorbent material with very high loading capacity exceeding 20... more

Application area

Special sorbent material with very high loading capacity exceeding 20 percent by weight for fine purification of air and inert gases.

Product specification

Activated carbon impregnated with sulfur (S).

Impregnation effects conversion of metallic mercury (Hg°) to ionic mercury sulfide (HgS).

Special sorbent for mercury and amalgam.

Very high micropore portion guarantees highest specific surface.

High loading capacity.

Separation without problems by adsorption in the activated carbon pores requires for gases a contact time of 0.1 sec in air conditioning technology and of 4 sec. in chemical process engineering (oxidation, hydrolysis or complex formation).

Optimal gas speed in process engineering approx. 0.25 to 0.3 m/s.

Loaded activated carbon granulate is not regenerable.

Technical specification

General Information Granular Material

Separation of solid or liquid particles out of gases.

Production of pure and purest reference and analysis gases by mechanical separation (filtration) as well as physical and chemical separation (adsorption and catalysis).

Fine gas purification is performed by catalysis and adsorption allowing reduction of contaminants up to few ppb.
