Protect pipes from ingress of water and other materials

Chemical features:

Good chemical resistance to alkalis, salt solutions, organic and inorganic acids, except oxidizing acids, as well as organic solvents below +60 °C. Unstable to aromatics, aliphatics and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Resistance to weather:

The material degrades when exposed to direct sunlight

Material specification:

LDPE is relatively flexible and soft, physiologically safe, excellent impact resistance even at low temperatures; antiadhesive, waxy and soft surface; high tearing strength; a high-quality electrical insulating material.

Due to its chemical properties, the bonding of PE requires special adhesives.

-40 °C: 300 kJ/m² (DIN 53448)

Surface resistance: 10¹⁴ Ohm (DIN 53482)

Volume resistivity: 10¹⁷ Ohm x cm (DIN 53482)

Dielectric strength: 30 - 40 kV/mm

Dielectric constant: 2.3 at 100 kHz

Water absorption: <0.1 % (ISO 62)
