Hex-Head Screws * Newsletter 2012-11

Hex-head screws with moulded-on washer made of polyamide

The newly developed hex-head screw with hexalobular socket and integrated washer is a new functional component for applications in chemical, laboratory and pharmaceutical technology, as well as in biotechnology and maintenance.

The slotted hex head offers two choices of tightening: On one side it allows tightening with a wrench, on the other side the screw can be tightened by means of a screwdriver with TORX® insert. The drive with hexalobular socket guarantees optimal torque transfer at low wear and low contact pressing forces.

The moulded-on washer facilitates the assembly and at the same time reduces the set-up time. In addition, the supporting surface increases and at the same time reinforces the screw head.

The material used is polyamide (PA). This material features good elastic, thermal and mechanical properties. It is stainless and resistant to oils, fats and a wide range of inorganic and organic media.

The screws are available in the sizes M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10 with a length of 6-80 mm. The low weight of the screw is significant for the assembly.

Our catalogue THOMAPLAST®-III comprises a wide variety of screws, nuts and spacers made of plastics such as PTFE, PP and PVDF beside PA.
